Week 4: Dust off Your Dreams

Welcome to Day 22! We are more than half-way there. I pray that your experience thus far has been as rich and full as mine.

Today’s devotional Dust off Your Dreams, reminds us that God has not forgotten; that He still plans to prosper us in every area of our lives. For that reason we are to “dream big, dream bold and always remember that He does not forget” His promises.

What are your dreams for your life? A career, marriage, education, and/or more impact for the kingdom? Then pursue those dreams like never before in 2012. As you do so remember these two important points:

  1. God wants to bless you INDEED. All He needs from you is a devoted heart and faith that believes He can do anything.  God has repeatedly reminded us during the course of this fast to let Him do a new thing, to ask for what we need according to His will and He will do it, and to BELIEVE that He will bless us INDEED. Each day we have prayed the Jabez prayer (I Chronicles 4:10) and each day He hears and is anxious to work on our behalf. 2 Chronicles 16:9a reminds us ”For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” A surrender heart is a loyal heart; therefore expect God to bless you and to grant you good success in your business.
  2. When you take care of God’s business He takes care of yours. The scripture tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” And that’s just what you’ve been doing during the course of this fast—seeking God. Now watch Him show up in your situation and work mightily. Recently God has been telling me to “rest.” For me rest meant that I was to allow Him to market The 40-Day Surrender Fast the way He wished. In the meantime I was to take care of my home and some other missions-related activities. And because of my obedience I have seen God’s hand in the life of this book. He has opened doors for me that I never expected to be opened. Case in point, I am on this amazing experience with you! What a mighty and faithful God we serve.

There’s an excitement in my spirit that’s growing with each passing day. And just in case you haven’t noticed, we’re in the middle of a movement from God. So stay alert and present for the next 18 days. As He told the children of Israel in the book of Joshua, “Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess” (Joshua 1:11, NKJV).

In faith, possess your new land, your new season, and your new life. Dust off those dreams, put them before God, and let Him prosper you in every area of your life.

Remember to join us for morning prayer. This week we are focusing on the 4th part of the Jabez prayer: “and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” Please send your prayer request to prayer@surrenderfast.com.

I would love to hear from you. If you have a testimony of how God has blessed you on this fast please email me at testimony@surrenderfast.com.

Dr. Celeste, thank-you so-o-o much for obeying God with the writing of your book and the subsequent fasts. Although (you know)I have been fasting almost ALL my life, this is the first time I have done the Surrender Fast. It is the most refreshingly anointed fast I have ever experienced!!
After having just retired from my career in clinical nursing on November 30th, 2011 I found myself settling into favorite TV shows. God said NO!! In addition to that challenge, I had people to question why I would retire at this point which caused me to wonder if I had indeed heard God’s voice. As a result of these scenarios, I was instructed by God to surrender TV and DOUBT for the 40 days! What a blessing it has been as I learn in this season how to make all of my new FREE hours productive and balanced. When I turn on the TV again, I will be able to do so with a level of control. I am also developing a boldness to tune out the naysayers as I watch God’s plan unfold. I am excited about this season as I am about to experience my best life!
Thank-you, Dr. Celeste, for being an instrument that God can use. His hand IS upon you!

    • Geneva, what you have said means a lot considering that you have been accustomed to fasting most, if not all, of you life. I grew up in a church where we were required to fast on both Tuesdays and Fridays, so for me fasting has never been an issue but when God asked me to “surrender” for 40 days that took fasting to a whole other level. I know it has for you too as God has instructed you to surrender TV and doubt. Wow!

To hear that God is preparing you for the next stage of your life is exciting!!! Phooey to the Naysayers. 🙂 In Bruce Wilkenson’s book Beyond Jabez he calls them “Border Bullies” as they are trying to block your path as God is enlarging your territory. But no matter what keep listening to God and do all that He instructs. Great things are in store for you!

  2. Dr. Celeste, this was what I needed. I have been sensing God telling me to rest as well. There is so much that I feel I should be doing but I am not feeling led to do it. Just feeling led to get closer to God and his voice. Thank you as well for your obedience in writing this book. It has been a tremendous blessing to me. I have struggled for the past few days with may distractions but I am not stopping, I am going all the way.

    • Hi Detra. You are welcome about the fast. Also, you are doing just right…use this time to get closer to God and learn HIs voice. He has so many great adventures for you and you want to always be in the posture of surrender and submission so that you are able to do just as He says. Be blessed!

      • Yes absolutely… I feel like this is what I need to make sure that my plans line up with HIS plans. I just want to be in HIS perfect will and do what he wants me to do instead of what I want to do to later learn that it wasn’t what HE had planned for me. The funny thing is that during this fast the Lord has also shown me other areas I need to surrender, so this won’t be the last time I do this fast. It will become a regular part of my spiritual walk.

      • Yes, the “surrendered lifestyle.” Join the club; there is no better place to be but walking in the will of God!

      • Yes absolutely! That’s where I want to be.

Ohh Dr. Celeste this was so well needed and such a word of confirmation. I have never felt so close to destiny and all God has shown me over the years. Thank you for your obedience to God in ALL you do, your life and ministry is such a tremendous blessing!!
    I love you!
    Joy Briscoe

    • Yes Joy! Keep on moving; destiny’s calling.

Expect the great in the next 18 days. I don’t know what will happen, but I know at the end of this you are going to have an amazing praise report! Love ya!
