Week 5: The God of the Impossible

Welcome to Day 29! Today’s devotional, The God of the Impossible, was one of my favorite to write. One day prior to my writing that blog, God did the seemingly impossible; He saved my youngest brother. (Stephen will join us this Friday on the Weekly Wrap-up Call to share with us a snippet of his experiences as a new creation.) What an exciting day that was, not only for me, but my entire family.

Obviously, I don’t need to recap the story; you have it there in black and white. But what I do want to stress is that God is not through, He wants to bless you equally as much.

What requests do you have before Him? Perhaps they’re related to your business, family, health, and/or ministry efforts. Whatever the case, do you believe that they will come to pass? I hope by now your answer is YES because it is faith that moves God.

Hebrews 11:6 reads, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Therefore, if you’re going to experience His great and mighty hand in your circumstances, you must believe Him at His word. So continue to seek Him, to grow closer to Him, and to believe that He can do what seems humanly impossible.

That’s what Jabez did. And like Jabez, you have been seeking God for the last 29 days, asking Him to bless you INDEED and to enlarge your territory (I Chr. 4:10). Thankfully, God doesn’t ignore sincere prayers that are made with the proper motivation. Hannah is a witness to this truth (I Samuel 1:8-18) as is Peter, whose friends earnestly prayed until he was supernaturally freed from a Roman jail (see Acts 12)! And if God—who does not value one person over another—did that for them, what might He do for you? The sky isn’t even the limit, because the possibilities are limitless with God.

On that note, this week we will continue our study of the Jabez prayer with the theme New Horizons with God. We will focus on the last portion of the prayer which reads, “So God granted Him what he requested.” You won’t want to miss this special time with our Father.

  2. Marsha

Wow, Celeste, you are all in my business….lol….I’m so glad that you deviated from the devotion because “making the break” was especially for me. Thank you so much for obeying God.

    • Marsha that is wonderful! This is one of the best decisions you will make for your life. Watch as you life unfolds to be much more than you ever imagined. I am a living witness that God doesn’t hold our past against us!

  3. Ruth Ann

Dr. Celeste, you are the bomb. Thank you once again for being a timely person. I was reflecting on all that God wants me to do and then I had to stop myself and say, I am trying to do this in my own strength. God got it covered. Thanks for the reminder. And oh yeah, I am on target with everyone else. Have a wonderful day.

    • Thanks Ruth Ann! Yes, I am constantly reminding myself to get out of my own way :). Be assured, it is already done so take a seat and relax :). You have a wonderful day also.

Dr. Celeste, thank you these devotionals are the best. Each day that goes by my faith level grows higher and higher ! I am so anticipating God to do the impossible in healing all of me, matter oF fact my posture has changed, I’ve stopped being known as “living with MS” I told ms no you live with me and just like when someone lives with another person they must abide by the houses rules so you/ms must abide by mine! God is the God of the impossible, so I won’t even wait for the doctors report, I’ll just tell everyone the good news now “Im HEALED”!
    Love you,

    • Joy, I have the chills! That’s the way you do. Speak those things that are not as if they were so because with God all things are possible. Therefore, it is already done. You are healed in Jesus’ name! Like you said, MS is an unwelcomed guest and very soon it needs to find a new residence. Be blessed my sister.

  5. Oh me, oh my, Day 29 – already! Dr. Celeste this fast has been both exhilerating and challenging, all at once or so it seems! What an exciting opportunity, taking me to a whole new level in the Lord! And I’m believing God for sooooo many things but the main two are for the deliverance of the DLD Family from generational curses of false/dark teachings meant to steal/kill/destroy, and for my parents who have been experiencing heart and right hip problems (respectively)! The Lord is my Jehovah Taneish (I believe that this is the correct Hebrew word for it), my leader! He WILL continue to show me the who, the what, the when, the where & the how! This morning my heart was lead to confess throughout the day or at least until further notice that “by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony the DLD Family is set free, and L&L are healed!” I’m expecting GRRRRREAT and miraculous things to happen this year, this month, this week, this day! Dr. Celeste, may God continue to bless you and all that you are doing! Amen, Amen & Amen!

    • You are almost there Angela! Keep on going! I am praying with you about your family. The beauty of the finished work that Jesus did on the cross is that He has delivered us from every stronghold. However, it takes some time for our reality to catch up with what has already been done! I love that God has you praying “by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony the DLD Family is set free, and L&L are healed!” Awesome! Be blessed and I am looking forward to more of this great testimony.
