The Health Moment: The Wonders of the Walnut (2 of 4)

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring (in fierce hunger), seeking someone to seize upon and devour. I Peter 5:18 (AMP)

How’s your health? Today we’re discussing the health benefits of yet another small but powerful health aid: the walnut! (Last week we covered the benifits of the almond: http://wp.me/p24sTU-4f)
Did you know that adding 14 walnut halves at 190 calories into your daily diet will help keep the brain active as well as keep your heart healthy? All thanks to the omega-3 fatty acids found in walnuts.
According to Gloria Tsang of Health Castle.com the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats in the walnut–to be specific, the alpha-linolenic acid (an essential fatty acid found in flaxseed oil, canola oil and walnuts–is shown to lower the LDL (bad) cholesterol in the body.
Nuts can be added to any breakfast, lunch or dinner time meal and makes a healthy nutritional snack. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: Please pray and ask God for direction and always consult a physician before starting any new diet.
