The Health Moment: the Benefits for Cashews and Pistachios (3 of 4)

For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares! Jeremiah 30:17 (Amplified Bible)

We’re back! Unfortunately last week I was unable do the health segment due to internet issues. This week we’re continuing our series on nuts however because of last weeks lost I’m doubling up and talking about the health benefits of pistachios and a little nut known as the cashew. In the June 2012 issue of Parenting Magazine it was purported that 49 pistachios, equaling 160 calories, promotes eye health thanks to the antioxidants found in this nut. In this same write up health blogger Melody Rhodes reported other benefits to nutrition http://suite101.com/article/health-benefits-of-pistachios-a48728 including the nut being a good source of protein and fiber.

Likewise, a serving size of cashews (about 18 nuts) equaling 160 calories promotes stronger bones and immunity thanks to it’s magnesium. The top 7 benefits of cashew: cancer prevention, heart health, hair and skin health, bone health, being good for nerves, prevention of gallstones, and weight loss http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/7-health-benefits-of-cashews.html.

Hope you all find both articles to be equally beneficial when it comes to the renewal of your temple.

Your comments are welcome! Have you implemented any of these changes to your diet? Please let us know if you are seeing some improvement in your health.

Strong bones do come from good genes but supplementation of Calcium and Magnesium do come in handy. *
