We’ve come to the end of our nut series and I am finishing the benefits of nuts with a blast. Today we’re talking about a smoother, creamier nut: Peanut Butter!!! It’s the buttery nut that goes well with crackers, apples, celery and creates one of America’s guilty pleasures: the peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Besides being good on foods, did you also know it’s good for you? Forget what you’ve heard it about it being fattening, when consumed in moderation, peanut butter is actually quite beneficial.

According to Lydia Stephens, writer for eHow, Harvard Medical School suggested that the poly- and monounsaturated fats in peanut butter lowers your risk of developing heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. It also burns belly fat thanks to the energy it produces which in turn allows you to lose weight. Lastly, it’s high in potassium and fiber. Read more at
