The Health Segment: The Year in Review

Peanut Butter

We have come to the end of the year and I am presenting the best-of-the best health segment posts for the month of December.

Today I’m reminding you of the benefits of the smoother, creamier nut: Peanut Butter!!! It’s the buttery nut that goes well with crackers, apples, celery and creates one of America’s guilty pleasures: the peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Besides being good on foods, did you also know it’s good for you? Forget what you’ve heard it about it being fattening, when consumed in moderation, peanut butter is actually quite beneficial.

According to Lydia Stephens, writer for eHow, Harvard Medical School suggested that the poly- and monounsaturated fats in peanut butter lowers your risk of developing heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. It also burns belly fat thanks to the energy it produces which in turn allows you to lose weight. Lastly, it’s high in potassium and fiber. So enjoy a spoonful of peanut butter today and get ready to burn, burn, burn and build a more healthier you!

Sincerely
