Week 6: Lose to Gain

Well we are nearing the end of Cycle 7 and what a time we have had at Camp Surrender!

This week God has us re-focusing on the word “This” from our theme, You Were Born for This.

God has a plan to use you in a most amazing way, but in order to be used by Him you must first get “self” out of the way.

Of course, selfless living is unheard of in today’s culture which promotes selfishness. We are bombarded with phrases like, “Have it Your Way,” “Just Do You,” and “It’s all about me, myself, and I.” But if you are going to fulfill the plan God has for you, you must decide to live sacrificially; in a posture of complete surrender to His plan and will.

The Word tells us in Matthew 16:24-25, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

I believe that every person is called to do something great, but greatness as God defines it not the world.

Will you join the ranks of those who denied themselves to fulfill God’s plan? People like Noah, Abraham, Esther, Samson, John the Baptist, Dr. Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, and Jesus.

Fulfilling the call requires complete self-denial and extreme sacrifice. However, when you are passionate about the things of God, you are willing to sacrifice your comfort for His plan.

So the questions is: Are you willing to risk it all to gain far more? I pray your answer is a resounding, “YES!”

With God all things are possible,
Dr. Celeste
