61 Days of Fasting — Week 4 — You Yet Holding on?

Hello Surrender Fasters,

When I was a teenager I loved to listen to a recording of Carlton Pearson telling the story of his encounters with a little ole church mother named Mother Sherman. He stated that in between Sundays she would ask, “You yet holding on?” as if he would backslide between Sundays!

Well considering we’ve just entered the most challenging time of the fast, I need to play Mother Sherman and ask, “You yet holding on?”

I pray the answer is YES.

But just in case you are on the verge of giving up, here’s a little encouragement from my Facebook post.

Day 21 – Personal Reflection
I am meditating on Ps 102:13, “You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.” (NIV)

In the year of double I truly believe that we’re walking in the “fullness of time.” But you must show the Lord your faith. I don’t care how outrageous the request like Mary said, “whatever He tells you to do, Do It.” Indeed, your faith is making you whole, and your faith is making the impossible, possible! ‪#‎61days‬ ‪#‎theappointedtime‬

Day 22 – Dust Off Your Dreams
In prayer about which to dust off, lol, because I’ve learned, especially this year, it’s all about timing! I don’t know about you, but I no longer desire to work against the grain but be in God’s perfect will. Because when the fullness of time has come…watch out now! ‪#‎day22‬ ‪#‎promisekeeper‬

Keep on surrendering!

With God all things are possible,
Dr. Celeste

I have never been more happy to be involved in a fast! Your book with the scriptures and suggestions of what to reflect upon have been almost cleansing to me. Sometimes I think I don’t have a reaction and I end up writing four or five pages in my journal! I have seen God moving in wonderful ways-beyond what I imagined all because I am surrender mode! Thank you so much for the time you took during the Bible studies and the blessing that you’ve been through this book. I enjoy writing as well. I hope that when I finally see my way to the end of my first book, God will use it to be the kind of blessing that you have been to me and others!

    • Hi Monet, I am excited for what God is doing in your life! Believe it on not, some people have said that they have done the Surrender Fast without journaling. What?! Is there really such a thing? LOL But seriously, I think you only get half the experience…Keep on surrendering, can’t wait to hear what’s next for you!
