A scrub a day will keep the itchies and dryness away!
Hey Guys! Are you tired of the feeling you get when your skin is in bad need of repair? The dryness, the itch, the feeling that an alligator has just jumped up and landed on your skin?! “OH the humanity!!!”
That winter dry air, that briskly wind and not to mention the snow can reek havoc on our skin.
But no worries. Here’s three DIY scrubs that are sure to get your skin back in tip top condition and will make you feel like you’ve just came back from a summer vacation where you basked in nothing but the sun and sand.
FYI: Sand is a natural skin exfoliate.

Sweet Vanilla Sugar Scrub:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup of your favorite oil
2 Tbs honey
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract (or 5 – 10 drops of your favorite essential oil)
Of course you can use this scrub on your whole body, too. Always finish with a cool rinse and pat skin dry with a clean towel.”
Mint Sugar Scrub:
Sugar – prevents bacteria growth, and because of it’s rugged texture, it helps to get rid of dead skin.
Peppermint Extract – a natural additive and flavoring.
Green Food Coloring – for minty color
1½ – 2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon peppermint extract
1 drop green food coloring
Start by adding 1½ cups sugar to the oil, along with the peppermint extract and green food coloring. Mix until ingredients are well combined and food coloring is evenly distributed. If mixture is too wet, add another ½ cup sugar until scrub is to desired consistency. Spoon scrub into air-tight containers (such as a mason jar).
Honey – Is a natural humectant (holds moisture); and is also moisturizing and antioxidant.
Combine all ingredients and mix. Put into a mason jar or other container and enjoy!
What a way to cleanse your entire body. Natural ingredients with no harmful effects. Plus, all or most of the ingredients are probably in your cupboard. Make one for yourself or share one or two with a friend or relative. It can be a great and thoughtful gift idea.
