The Benefits of Shower Filters

Quick Tip Monday!!!

Here’s a blog that I wrote early 2015 that I thought would be of use during season.

The winter weather has officially started up and with that comes the beauty of Gods’ creations. Snow everywhere! Oh how I love this time of year.

But there are a few things that we may not love that loves to rear it’s head every now and then.

The frigid temperatures, the blistering winds, and the increased hard water that we’re experiencing is enough to make anyone feel an excessive amount of dry and itchy skin, as well as dry and lifeless hair.

Speaking of which, it seems like the hard water just sort of snuck up on me one day. Recently I even noticed that the hair conditioners I use to wash and condition my hair were not as effective as they had been.

Then I happened to come across a YouTube video about natural hair and what do I hear that blogger mention…shower head filters.

So, of course I did some research to find out about these filters and its benefits. And low and behold I believed I have found the answer to my hair problems.

I discovered that the calcium and high amounts of chlorine in the water was stripping my hair of moisture and its natural ability to produce oil which, in turn, resulted in an adverse effect on my hair.

Not only does chlorine cause hair and skin damage, but other health issues such as premature aging, heart diseases, breast cancer and respiratory complications could be contributed to hard water.

Research also showed that the chlorine in the water while showering could cause rashes and other skin irritations such as eczema.

So the next day I installed a shower filter.

Drum Roll……………..

The results were amazing!!! I felt like I was at a spa. Gone was the harsh hard water, and in its place was soft, lush, goodness. That’s really the only way to describe it.

My hands glided through my hair with no problems, and my skin didn’t even need to be moisturized. It was actually that soft.

I’m now a believer in shower filters, and couldn’t be more excited about this purchase that will not only benefit my hair, but also my overall health in the long run.
