I think today is a great day to start back on the road to trusting God.
Sometimes the storm may get so hard that it seems like the only way to get any relief is by occupying your mind with something else.
It’s usually not even intentional. That reality t.v show, that delicious sweet you can’t seem to live without, shopping without purpose, internet surfing with no direction, or just becoming a couch potato and watching movie after movie.
Anything to bring peace to your surroundings and current situation.
I’ve buried myself so far down in the rabbit hole that I couldn’t see my way out.
I mean God has taken my family and I to the unknown and it has been so overwhelming at times that before It even dawned on me what I was doing, I had started using Youtube makeup and natural hair tutorials as my escape.
I had gotten so bad that even when my husband would come to me to discuss our situation, I would be like “whatever you want to do is fine.” Seriously? I had totally checked out; not just on my family but on life in general.
I totally stopped looking to God and I started getting caught up in how I felt. Why us? Why do we have to do this? Who are we to do something that doesn’t make since and believe that it will even work out?
At one point I got so upset that I decided I wasn’t going to do anything until God explains it to me.
Imagine putting God on a time frame to explain Himself.
And because He didn’t explain anything, I didn’t want to hear anything related to our situation. I would become so irritated when someone would prophesy to us. I would go to church letting God know I didn’t want to hear anything from anyone trying to say anything personal pertaining to our situation.
And it never failed, someone would always say something.
Can you relate? The struggle can seriously be real sometime guys.
But today I would encourage you to get back in the fight. Don’t get defeated; get up determined to beat that doubt, that disbelief and that why me mentality.
Dr. Celeste Owens said this on Periscope.”Most people’s decisions are based on these two questions; which decision will cause me the least amount of pain? And which involves the least amount of risk?”
I thought that those two questions could be life changing because the decisions we make based on today will determine if we live an ordinary or an extraordinary life.
Are you ready to fight?
