“Embrace The Illogical.”

Good News Thursday!!!

This blessed me over a year ago and I hope this will bless you today.

  • Characterized by or capable of clear, sound reasoning.
  • (of an action, development, decision, etc) natural or sensible given the circumstances.

From the moment we’re born we are taught to think logically.

Growing up I’m sure you’ve said or mentioned something to someone who may have sounded a little out of the norm, only to hear, “does that make any sense to you?”

On the flip side we’ve also learned how to throw logic out the window. Remember that thing that allows a car to fly, houses to be made out of gingerbread, fountains to be made out of kool-aid, and horses to be beautiful unicorns.

What’s that thing called again? oh yeah, “Imagination.”

Imagination: Also called the faculty of imagining, is the ability to form new images and sensations in the mind that are not perceived through senses such as sight, hearing, and other senses.

As kids we only needed to use our imagination to take us anywhere we wanted to go or to be anything we wanted to be.

And just like that it was because we created it.

The Word of God Says…..

Romans 4:17

If our imaginations could take us  wherever we wanted and we could become whatever we wanted in our minds;

IMAGINE if we thought outside the box and refused to let logic stand in our way, what then could we accomplish?

If we take a look inside our handbook (The Bible), we’ll see that logic was never used to accomplish the works of God.

David defeats Goliath – 1 Samuel 17:1-58

Elijah, the widow with the handful of flour – 1 Kings 17:7-16

Elisha, the widow with the two sons – 2 Kings 4:1-38

King Jehoshaphat defeats the army’s through prayer, fasting and praise – 2 Chronicles 20:1-29

Peter walks on water – Matthew 14:22-33

If you delve into a few of the stories above you will clearly be able to see that when it comes to faith and trusting in God’s word, logic has no place in the outcome produced.

I for one am believing alongside my husband for the promises of God.

The promises that He has revealed to us are so big that when I say we don’t qualify for any of these miracles, believe me I’m not exaggerating one bit.

We’ve tried to be logical about this. I mean we’ve looked at it from every angle only to be disappointed. Then we were reminded that what God was going to do in our lives would not be able to be logically achieved.

If they could be, we may or someone else may be able to take the credit for what only God could do.

Let me just be the first to say that my family has decided to grasp and cling to the illogical.

What do we have to lose?

God said that….

If we hold on…..

Are you believing for something far beyond reasoning?

If the answer is yes,

Than what you must do is let go of everything you believed to be true (logical) and embrace what the world would call the irrational, unjustifiable, unsound reasoning known as faith.

Simply put, trust beyond what you can see, hear and feel?

  1. You better preach! I remember at the Surrender Healing Retreat Pastor Deborah said that “logic has no place in this season.” I am hearing that loud and clear. Thanks for blessing us today!

    • Thank you so much. I think I’m really starting to get what she means. As I looked into the word I realized that God loves to work illogically. I’m looking for some amazing things to happen.
