Terror, Fright, Horror, Alarm, Nervousness, Unease, and the list goes on and on.
These are all words that describe FEAR!
Fear: An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
I wrote about my experience with fear awhile back, and I’ve come to realize that fear is a journey.
Even after you decide to face it, you become overtly aware that fear has a lot tricks up its sleeve.
I’ve come to realize that fear is the silent and deadly killer to dreams and aspirations.
It’s so quiet that you’re not even aware that it has attacked or attached itself to you until it’s exposed.
That means you can be walking around with fear right now and not realize it.
It’s so conniving that it’ll make you believe that you don’t want to do something that you’ve always desired to do.
The opportunity will present itself and because you don’t realize that fear is controlling you, you’ll pass up the opportunity and not even understand why you did that .
Or you may be one who knows that you are fearful and still chooses to pass up opportunity’s in lieu of fear.
You may have decided that fear is what it is and it’s here to stay, so you might as well get use to it.
Fear is not real, it’s a fleshly emotion and like any emotion we can choose to accept it or reject it.
I must admit that fear is a passive aggressive emotion. It wants to do either nothing or it wants to do it in a way that will surely not be pleasing to God or anyone else because it’s selfish.
Back fear up in a corner and it will most likely become defensive and agitated.
Fear doesn’t think about anyone or anything else. It’s just concerned about what will benefit it(fear).
Which means that it can’t and will never be beneficial to the Kingdom. (Romans 8:7-8)
Fear may seem like it’s trying to protect you from something bad, but when fear shows itself at a time when it’s most beneficial to you and others especially God, than fear has chosen not to work for you but against you.
Because the word says….
God has given us a chose in everything. We can choose to live fearful and defeated or triumphant and free.
So, will you choose to live your dreams or will you decide to be content living your fears? Les Brown
