I’m just thinking about the word “Grace.”
What that word really means, and if I allow myself to extend grace to others according to the true definition of that word.
His “Unmerited Favor.”
He allows us to receive it, even though we don’t deserve it.
We can’t even say because I did a,b,or c that God allowed me to be with Him.
It’s only through faith that we are save.
There’s no big I and little you in Salvation. In God.
It’s only by His “Grace” that we are allowed to be called His son and daughters.
You’re not that good. I’m not that good.
I make mistakes all the time. Believe me when I say that if it was up to me, I would be done with me.
In all His magnificence and wonder.
In all His perfections and holiness;
He still wants me. He still wants you.
Even on our best days we would be nothing without the grace of God.
We can’t buy our way into His love. We can’t act, speak, look a certain way to get His love.
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in sin, it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
God’s grace goes far beyond our finite reasoning.
And If you’re one that believes that after 7 times 70 you no longer have to extend grace to your brother then you’ve truly missed the mark when it comes to God’s grace.
Even as I look at the word G-r-a-c-e,
I see God’s Race.
In our personal race, it’s all about how we’re treated, how it makes us feel and if we want to invest the time.
But in God’s race, it’s about the heart of the man, despite how He might feel, He knows that we’re worth the investment.
Aren’t you glad that His ways are not our way and His thoughts not our thoughts?
Boy because if they were, we’d probably all be lost.
When was the last time you extended “G-R-A-C-E?”
