Now is the time to seek the Lord. With so many things going on in the world today–random terrorist attacks, senseless killings, suicides, job loss, depression, hearts being deceived–people becoming more and more desensitized to the needs and well being of others.

And why is that?

I believe it’s because we’ve become so overwhelmed with what we SEE and how we FEEL about what we see, that we’ve taken our focus off of God and the Word and taken matters into our own hands. The result? Messed up lives.

But now is the time to seek the Lord. The benefits of seeking God through His word are endless: feelings of peace in a chaotic world, situations working out because you took your hand off of them, the ability to love your enemies and abstain from temptation. All become second nature when you seek the Lord.

Now is the time to seek the Lord. How do you maintain that peace? Simply by keeping your heart and mind stayed on the Lord and getting into your Word daily. Not just reading the Word, but actually meditating on it and getting revelation and understanding through the Word and how it relates to you.

Now is the time to seek the Lord. The advantages of really studying the Word opens us up to endless possibilities. We begin to see things the way they truly are and not the way they appear to be. We get closer to God and then we are able to become our true authentic selves.

If you’re wanting to get into your Word and not exactly sure where to start, here are a few suggestions:
1. Acknowledge the Holy Spirit and let him speak to you.
2. Look at what’s going on around you and pull a scripture that pertains to your situation and mediate on it
3. Download a Bible app and start a reading plan that interest you.
