It’s that time again.
Preparing to ring in the New Year can be an exciting time.
There are so many things to consider.
To babysitter or not?
You may be thinking about attending church, going to see the
ball drop, attending a party(s),
throwing your own party or just going to a nice restaurant for the evening.
Whatever your decision ends up being, should be apart of it.
With so much excitement and the thrill of the year to come, also comes a need to party hard and enjoy the final moments of the years past.
During this time people may get a little lax and not be as cautious or alert as they normally would.
So choose safety first.
If you can avoid not going out after hours great; but if you need to or desire to go out be alert. Drive cautiously, keep the music in the car on low, and with all that is in your power “do not text or be on your cell phone.”
It’s important to be aware of your surroundings at all time. eliminate all distractions during this time.
Drinking and Driving:
If you will be drinking that night please prepare in advance to have a designated driver to ensure your safety.
If you can’t think of one, choose not to drive, but instead use a cab service or some other form of transportation to get you from place to place.
For those of you who don’t drink, be aware that there may be others on the road that may not be as clearheaded.
If you see a car that looks to be moving erratically, try to get a license plate number and call 911. The life you may save by doing this could be the drivers, someone else or a loved one.
Stay In A Group:
If you are going out, stick to going out with a group of friends. Stay with your group at all times and be aware of your surroundings. Never leave your drink/beverage unattended.
Do not decide to give caution to the wind and accept a drink or substance of any kind from anyone. Always have your own emergency kit in case of any unforeseen headaches or any other ailments that may pop up.
It’s pretty amazing that we are already at the end of 2017. Have fun, be joyous, be prayerful and be safe.
