Better Safe Than Sorry?

Safe Sorry

The old saying, “It’s better safe than sorry” is not necessarily true in God’s economy.

Ask the woman with the issue of blood, who though “unclean,” pressed her way to Jesus because she knew, “If only I could touch the hem of His garment I would be made whole.”

Ask blind Bartimaeus, who though blind, dared to believe that Jesus would hear him when he cried, “O Son of David, have mercy on me.” Continue reading

Will You Keep It?

Here’s the million dollar question. Will you continue to surrender the thing you gave over to God during Cycle 6?

I didn’t make this public–because I wasn’t sure how it would sound– but for Cycle 6 I surrendered my body to my husband. It’s not what you think. LOL. In fact, it wasn’t what I thought. But as we fasted God showed me what surrendering my body REALLY looked like. Continue reading

Grace for Every Season

Grace is used in the King James Version of the Bible 170 times. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word for grace is Hen which means favor, grace, charm, displaying a favorable disposition, for example “to find grace in someone’s eyes.” The meaning of grace in the OT remains the same no matter what scripture you are reading. Grace is grace.

In the New Testament the Greek word for grace is Charis which means the state of kindness and favor toward someone, gift, benefit, credit, blessings. As in the OT, anytime you see grace in the NT it has the same meaning. Grace is grace.

The Fearless Way

On Friday, Pastor Donald Chisholm (Latter Rain Cathedral, Lockport, NY) shared these words on the Weekly Wrap-up Show:

“Jesus had no fear. Suppose you had no fear? When you heard God you responded right away because you would have no fear of what someone would do or say. The power of God could flow through you uninterrupted. Fear interrupts the power of God in your life.”

Wow, those words stuck with me as I developed the teaching for this week.

Suppose you had no fear? How could God use you for His greater plan?

As I shared today on the Morning Prayer Call you can live fearlessly. The word declares in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

So if the spirit of fear is not from God it must originate from other sources: self and/or the enemy. Continue reading

Surrender to God’s Bigger Dream

You’ve made it to Day 22 of your 40 days of surrender!!!

Today God is instructing us to “Dust off Our Dreams.”

What dreams do you have that yet to be fulfilled? Don’t give up hope but keep hoping in the Lord. As long as your dreams are His dreams, they WILL come to pass.

Since 2010 I’ve surrendered to God’s bigger dream and what He’s done in such a short amount of time is blowing my mind. I’ve always been a dreamer, but the dream I had for myself was nice and manageable. I dreamed of operating a multi-service private practice, a one stop shop so to speak. But when I heard God call me out of my familiar to His new territory, I moved out of my BETTER to receive His BEST.

Week 2 of Cycle 6: Here Come the Men!

We are pleased to announce that Cycle 6 has brought record number of men!!!

Earlier this year Terry Lighty, Min. Vincent Briscoe, and Min. Warren Sims each started to pray that more men join the fast. They know first hand the power of surrender and wanted other men to be part of the movement. Well it’s awesome to witness those seeds bearing fruit.

Charles Clark, President/CEO of Nebo Publishing Group and Editor-In-Chief of Brotha Online Magazine had this to say about his first week of fasting: “Have you ever had a shout in the right vocal and a shout in the left leg? Cycle 6 Starts Today!!!

Welcome to Cycle 6 of Surrender Fast 2013! Today marks the first day of our 40 days of surrender.

I am excited for what God is doing now and will do for you in the days to come. Expect Him everyday: look for Him around every corner, hear Him speak out of the mouth of babes and strangers,  believe that He wants to do something new in you!

Our theme this cycle is: “Filled to the FULL: The Keys for Living a PowerFULL, GraceFULL, and FavorFULL Life.” I am determined in the next six weeks to walk in the power and authority that is my right as a child of the Most High God.

Paul spoke about this in Ephesians 3:17b-19. He wrote,And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. In other words, filled to the full with his power, grace, and favor! Continue reading

Cycle 6: The Pre-Fast Preparation Begins Today!!!

Hello and welcome to the Pre-Fast Preparation portion of Cycle 6 of Surrender Fast 2013!!! Cycle 6 marks the third cycle of fasting for 2013. We are excited about the changes that will take place in your life because of your surrender. REGISTER HERE

This Pre-Fast Preparation week is designed to slow you down so that you’re able to hear from God clearly especially as it relates to what you are to surrender for the next 40 days.

The Pre-Fast Preparation chapters are found in The 40-Day Surrender Fast Devotional. The first chapter is titled, “Let God Do a New Thing!”

“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)
