The Benefits Of Black Tea

Quick fact: after water tea is the most consumed beverage in the world.

I hear you…no…this is another article on the benefits of green tea.

Well, it was going to be until my husband went to the store and picked up a box of black tea instead of green tea which, in turn, put me in a mad scramble to learn if there were any benefits to these ostracized leaves.

After some research I thanked my husband for going against the grain and getting something that would soon become a staple in my health, hair and skin regimen.

The Benefits of Black Tea… as it Relates to Health

Black tea can help control or even prevent diabetes: 

  • Black tea has a significant amount of polysaccharides (carbohydrates) that work to decrease blood sugar absorption.
  • Research shows that countries which drink greater amounts of black tea have the smallest occurrence of Type 2 Diabetes.

“My Honey”

Honey is not only delicious on toast and in teas, but also great for the skin and Hair.

  • Acne: Honey is naturally antibacterial, which makes it great for acne treatment and prevention.
  • Aging: Honey is full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down the aging process.
  • Complexion boost: Honey is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow.
  • Pores: Honey is clarifying because it opens up pores making them easy to unclog.

Here are some ways I like to use Honey

Honey as a daily face cleanser.

All you need is a quarter size amount of raw honey. Simply massage it in an upward circular motion and then rinse off with warm or lukewarm water. You will notice immediately that your skin is baby soft and has a natural glow.

I, myself, no longer even need a moisturizer because my honey is now a two in one, which helps to save money! Continue reading
