I Need Thee, Oh, I Need Thee;
 Every Hour I Need Thee;
Oh, Bless Me Now, My Savior,
I Come To Thee.

That song now rings fresh in my mind.

It’s a clear reminder from my soul that I should never forget what’s most important as I take this journey on this narrow road.

Surrendering to God’s will can sometimes be challenging because of the flesh. The flesh refuses to submit; therefore making it easy to feel the need to give up and just surrender to self.

But I know that if I just hold on and flee the flesh’s will then I’ll be able to submit and become one with God’s will.

Here’s a previous blog that I wrote, and I feel that today we still need this reminder.

God Is With You!

For all of you who God has called to the secret place know that “He Is With You.”

This is the place where you find rest.

Rest from all the demands of this world system.

You’ll find clarity and your mind will surely be renewed. Continue reading

“Give Thanks!”

Give thanks
With a grateful heart
Give thanks
To the Holy One
Give thanks
Because He’s given
Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say
“I am strong”
Let the poor say
“I am rich”
Because of what the Lord
Has done for us
Give thanks

Happy Thursday!!!

Confessions of a (Married) Night Owl

Happy Thursday!!!

So I have a confession to make…I’m a night owl.

Personally I had always been fine with that. I’d stay up into the wee hours of the morning watching movies and then sleep until noon, sometimes 1pm. Upon awakening I would lounge in the bed, eventually get something to eat, do what I needed to do then start the same routine all over again. Ahh the life! Or so I thought.

Fast forward to 2008. God blessed me to marry one of the greatest men in the world. He’s everything I never knew wanted. I say this because I hadn’t planned on being married, but thank God that He sees and knows what is best for us, even when we think we got it all together.
Again he’s a great husband and father. He’s as handsome as can be and he loves the Lord with his whole being. The only issue I have with him is that he’s…a morning person. Ugh!!!!
Yes, he wakes up, opens every blind and even sings and plays music on some mornings. In fact there are times he will start his own personal worship service just three feet away from the bed. It can be a nightmare.

Enough is Enough: It’s Time to Conquer Your Fear of Rejection

I hate rejection and to varying degrees we all do. However, some are people are better at it than others. Case in point, my sister-in-law Latricia, will ask anyone for anything. Her motto is, “All they can say is no.” That’s my point exactly. They can say is no and that’s why I avoid asking. But my stance isn’t biblical and for the last seven months God has been instructing me to reject rejection. In other words, to not fear rejection.

Last summer God directed me to send the Surrender Fast devotional to people of influence. I generated a list and got to mailing. This is not typically my style, I like people to find me, but if God was asking me to do it He must have a plan!

The first few thanks-for-the-book, I-hope God-blesses-you notes were tolerable, but after 10+ rejection letters it was all getting to be a bit much and last Sunday it culminated in me having one big pity-party:

God where are you in all of this?! I look desperate. You could make them support this book. So why aren’t you?  Continue reading
